Over
2000 Year 10 students across Kent have begun their experience
of the world of enterprise.
The journey
begins with each student attending our Business Conference
Day at St Augustine's, Westgate, taking part in interactive
workshops in Creativity, Teamwork, Marketing and Business
Finance.
Over the
next 8 weeks these students will work in teams to set up their
own 'company', supported by employers and EBP Kent business
consultants and showcase their business in April.
The winning
team from each school will go forward to an area final to
be held in July 2010.

Following
on from the huge success of earlier Skillsfests held in various
schools across Kent, EBP Kent showcased our excellent employer
links and provided the Weald of Kent with a specialised Skillsfest
focusing on careers in Science and Languages.
Over 30
employers & universities set up in the school with interactive
stands enabling the students to find out more about the amazing
opportunities there are in these industries.
Employers
attending included the Army, a GP, Genzyme, EDF Energy, European
Commission, Cosmos - to name just a few.

Our innovative
Diploma programme is continuing to wow schools across Kent.
Working on 9 diploma lines, we have provided Diploma students
and teachers with events tailored to meet all the requirements
of each line. This month alone, we have held teacher days
for IT and SAL diplomas.
SHD Diploma
students in North Kent and Thanet have taken part in our Critical
Incident Day, Branding days and The Health Factor - to name
just a few.
As with
all our other events, it is our excellent employer engagement
that allows us to provide students with such hands-on experiences
and allows the employers to build suitable activities closely
linked to the units the students are studying.

Each year,
EBP Kent work in partnership with The Charles Dickens School
in Broadstairs and provide the whole school with a day of
enterprise and entertainment.
Whilst
year 10 students embark on the Business of Enterprise Challenge,
the rest of the school is vertically streamed and take part
in four different enterprise challenges all incorporating
the 14-19 Economic Wellbeing agenda. This is an amazing day
involving over 50 presenters and employers all working together
to provide each student with an insight into business and
enterprise.
Deputy
Headteacher, Alan Bailey, wrote "Our thanks to EBP Kent for
making the 25th a success. Everyone I have spoken says it
was a great day"
